LEGACY FIVE

Wednesday, March 25, 2026

When the Cathedral Quartet retired in 1999, Scott Fowler and Roger Bennett continued their rich Southern Gospel Quartet tradition by forming Legacy Five. In their first ten years, The Singing News Magazine nominated Legacy Five for some 75 Singing News fan awards. Year after year they are recognized as one of Gospel music’s favorite southern gospel groups. The Southern Gospel Music Association honored Legacy Five with Recording of the year and they have had two Dove Award nominations. The rich four and five part harmony that Legacy Five has become noted for are the result of a masterful weaving together of five unique and versatile talents. Matt Fouch sings the bass, Bryan Walker sings the baritone, Scott Fowler sings the Lead, Lee Black sings the tenor and Josh Townsend is the group’s pianist. Legacy Five has been featured on Gaither and friends Homecoming Videos, appeared on In Touch, and perform regularly at Shadow Mountain Community Church in California. They present the Gospel in a way that has endeared them to audiences across the U.S. and Canada.

Formed in 2017, they’re bringing the Nashville sound to Christian music and have captured the attention and affection of fans around the world.  They’ve performed live for thousands and entertained millions through television, social media, and radio. They’re bold, fresh, excited, and talented. Above all else, they remain faithful to the cause of Christ. In 2019 The Sound released their acclaimed major-label debut album, Make It Count. Since then, their career has been marked by four consecutive chart-topping songs and five Dove Award nominations. Their latest album, God Is Real, is a trailblazing record that incorporates elements of Nashville country-pop and worship. It was released in 2022 and won a Dove Award for Country Album of the Year. “Our aim is to bring people to the life-changing touch of Jesus Christ. We do that through making music that is creative, relevant, and impactful. That is our gift and we are blessed to use it for the kingdom of God.”

THE INSPIRATIONS

Wednesday, June 17, 2026

Every July for 60 years the Southern Gospel group, The Inspirations, hosts Singing in the Smokies, a festival that draws thousands to their native Bryson City. The quartet itself formed two years before the first gathering. Today The Inspirations are considered one of the most important groups ever to sing and record Southern gospel music. They recently won 2025 Singing News Fan Awards for Song of the Year and Favorite Quartet, Artist, Musician, and Album. Southern gospel is a form that, despite its generic-sounding name, actually refers to a very specific quartet-based style with carefully orchestrated harmonies. The Inspirations describe themselves as “an enthusiastic, sincere, clean-cut group of fundamental conservative Christian gentlemen with a desire and an objective to witness to a needful and sinful world through the medium of Gospel Music.” They have sold more than one million copies of their sixty albums. Their sound is now known in the world of Christian music as the Smoky Mountain style of Southern gospel quartet singing.
